You Just Never Know

Okay, so I knew that I was hired at my new job to take over some of my boss's responsibilities so that she could step back and take care of other things. But I was totally surprised this week by finding out that I'll be reporting to someone else entirely and that I'm basically taking over her job.

Not unpleasantly surprised, since the work will be much less tedious and my new boss is super chill. Mellow is where it's at.

In other news - I'll post some cool pics of last week's weekend long run soon. I've discovered a new starting point for my long runs that will be easier to park at and provides multiple trail connections. I could run 100 miles from this spot if I wanted to and not duplicate a trail!

I also found some "secret" trails in my own neighborhood that I can use during the week to get in my dirt fix! Yay!

Congrats to everyone who ran Miwok - it looks like it was a beautiful day/race!

Hi Coyotegirl. I have run all over the Wunderlich/El Corte de Madera/Purissima Creek/Huddart Park/Phelen Estate rectangle. I start at Wunderlich because my mom lives near there but Edgewood Park connects to the northest edge of all this but you go 1 mile beside HWY 280. My other favorite place to start long crazy loops is at the Duveneck Windmill open space (Black Mountain) about 1 mile uphill from Foothill College. There are connector trails that connect all the way to Portola State Park, Big Basin State Park, Castle Peak,Montecello, etc. It's awesome! Good luck with the new job. I found yourblog thru Catra's. have fun, Kathy D'Onofrio

Hi Kathy!

Yeah, I've been doing the Edgewood to Huddart/Phleger the past two weekends. The part next to 280 isn't too great but at least it's a good warm up for the hills.

Wow! I didn't know that you could connect from San Antonio all the way to Big Basin and Castle! That's awsome. I saw a trail leading off the top of the Power Line trail that wasn't on the park maps so I bet that was one of them. I'll have to do some more exploring! Drop me an email sometime!
